Little Jessica, whose disappearance froze the heart of every parent who watches the news.
And do you know why she is dead?
Because we still do not fully grasp the fact that sex offenders do not rehabilitate.
If that man had been locked up for life, as he should have been, Jessica would be alive.
Her family's hearts would not be broken.
And yesterday would have been a better day.

This just in: his half-sister (who lives near the Lunsfords and denied having let her sex-offender brother stay with her until another relative ratted them out) has been charged with obstruction because Couey told her he had "committed a crime" before he left the area, and she didn't bother to tell police that, either, when they came looking for him.
There's a special place in hell...
